Our Missions
Reciprocity
Our core value is to give back to the land with every interaction. We hope to restore native California ecosystem by removing invasive plants, cataloging native species, and seed collecting. When invasive trees are removed, we plant native nut trees in their place. These nuts can be foraged in the winter.

Tribal Resources
With our restoration efforts, we seek to reestablish Native American agency over land and water resources. It is important to us to give back to Indigenous people who stewarded and harvested the lands to shape the landscape we see today. We also assist in the commercialization of Indigenous food products, with the hopes of creating prosperity among small Indigenous business.
Education
Spreading public awareness of the value of native plants and animals is essential for leaders to take action on restoring lands to their native states. WHARF will provide guided nature walks and workshops.
Wild Agriculture
We hope to remove barriers for the public consumption and sale of wild and Californian plants. This is done through:
-
Food safety testing: Many staple crops of California Indigenous people are not FDA GRAS certified.
-
Plant disease research: Sudden oak death (SOD) containment is crucial to keep California ecosystems healthy. Collaboration with academic institutions and agricultural commissions will prevent the spread of plant diseases. This investment in native crops benefits everyone.
